Greenfield Girls Tennis Downs Mount Greylock

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- The Greenfield girls tennis team ended Mount Greylock's run in the Western Mass quarter-finals on Thursday, handing the Mounties a 4-1 decision.
 
"It was a nice year for our team and a very competitive match overall but we lost a couple of close matches and have to give Greenfield credit for pulling out the win," Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe said.
 
Mount Greylock picked up its point at second doubles, where Josie Dalsin and Izzy Leonard earned a 6-3, 6-1 win.
 
At No. 1 doulbes, the senior tandem of Emma Stankiewicz and Oriana Van Slyke pushed their opponents before falling, 7-5, 6-2.
 
In singles play, Greenfield earned straight-set wins over Mia Van Deurzen, Charlotte Sanford and Hannah Gilooly.
