Mount Greylock Boys Second in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Tommy Kirby and Carter Stripp finished third and fourth, respectively, to lead the Mount Greylock boys cross country team to a second-place finish at the Burnt Hills Invitational at Saratoga Spa State Park.
 
Will Nolan finished sixth as the Mounties collected 94 points to finish 11 points behind East Rochester, which one the event's Division I varsity class with 83 points.
 
The Mount Greylock girls finished third in the 10-team Division 1 field with Laura Galib leading the way with a 14th-place finish. Galib covered the 5-kilometer course in 20 minutes, 38 seconds.
 
The girls individual winner was Margaret Champagne of Seton Catholic of Plattsburgh, N.Y. Chapagne finished in 18:18, 42 seconds ahead of Allie Tedeschi of Berne-Knox-Westerlo.
 
Grace Smith, Anya Sheldon, Catherine Cavalli and Sophie Gerry rounded out the scoring for the Mount Greylock girls, who finished with 90 points, behind Seton Catholic (34) and Duanesburg, N.Y.
 
Duanesburg's Pat Murphy won the boys' race with a time of 15:31. Kirby and Stripp posted times of 15:48 and 15:55, respectively.
 
Jake Kobrin and Sam Swoap scored for the Mounties.
