Monument Girls, Mount Greylock Boys Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Josh Narey and Jacob Fink posted singles wins to help the Mount Greylock boys tennis team defeat Monument Mountain, 4-1, on Thursday afternoon.

Narey defeated the Spartans’ Alec Goffin, 6-2, 6-4. And Fink topped Raphael Guttierez, 6-2, 6-2.

Kadin Shafiroff earned Monument’s point with a win at No. 1 singles. He defeated Gray Kaegi, 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.

In doubles play, Mount Greylock (2-0) got wins from the tandems of Matt Wiseman/Brady Foehl and Sam Dils/Toby Foehl.

In girls action, Monument won, 5-0, with a series of straight-set wins.

Cara Fredman, Lexi Shumsky and Ava Guidette earned singles wins.

In doubles play, the Spartans got victories from Carley Shaffiroff and Hailey Higgins at No. 1 and Gabi DeFelice and Olivia Jaffe at No. 2.

Mount Greylock hosts Mount Everett on April 27.
