WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Individually, the girls and boys cross country ski teams from Mount Greylock are deep and talented and clearly the best in the Berkshire County Nordic League.

Together, they are unbeatable.

Mount Greylock showed its depth on Saturday morning by taking the top three spots in a 4-by-4 kilometer girls and boys relay event -- the first such event in recent memory in the county.

The format called for quartets of two boys and two girls apiece to tackle the 4-k course and learn how to make the exchange.

Mount Greylock's top foursome finished in 54 mintues, 20 seconds with Jacob Adams crossing the finish line in the anchor position.

He was followed by teammates Ethan Schoorlemmer (55:51) and Cameron Castonguay (55:57).

Lenox's top relay finished fourth. Miles Marshall skied the final lap for the Millionaires, crossing the line in 56:38.

Lenox also had a second quartet finish 10th out of 39 squads.

Wahconah's Sam Pyser crossed the finish line in 1:02:28 as his squad placed 10th.

Hoosac Valley's A Relay finished 12th, while the top Taconic quartet came home in 26th place.
