Hankey Leads Monument Bowlers, Sets Up Second-Place Showdown

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Monument Mountain and Wahconah will bowl Friday at Ken's Bowl to decide who finishes the regular season in second place in the Berkshire County Bowling League.
 
The Sparatans maintained their half-game lead in the standings on Friday at Cove Lanes thanks to a 27-4 win over Mount Greylock.
 
Tom Hankey Jr. rolled the day's top game (279) and top series (522) among all the league's bowlers to power Monument Mountain to victory.
 
Next week, the Spartans (5.5-1.5) face third-place Wahconah (5-2) in the final action before the Feb. 16 positional round. Wahconah was idle on Friday.
 
Other action on Friday at Cove included a 21-10 win for first-place McCann Tech (7-0) over Taconic. The Hornets were led by Chris Bostwick, who rolled a 440 series (238-202). Taconic (2-5) was led by Lynsey Aldam, whose 257 game and 492 series were the best of the day among the girls.
 
Pittsifield remains in fourth place at 4.5-2.5 after Friday's 26-5 win over Mount Everett. A.J. Moore led the Generals with a 401 series (220-181). Tucker Wilkinson (159-162--321) led the Eagles.
 
Fifth-place Drury (5-3) finished its regular season with a 19-12 win over Lee. Nick Johnson (185-183--368) led the Blue Devils, who are off this Friday. Lee got a 316 series from Carrie Conklin.
 
Mount Greylock Friday was led by Taylor Callahan, who rolled a 233 game and 441 series, third among the girls on the day behind Aldam and McCann Tech's Aleasia Yeaton (246-201--447).
