BELCHERTOWN, Mass. -- Belchertown’s boys tennis team earned a pair of narrow wins in doubles to defeat Pittsfield, 3-2, on Thursday.

“Both doubles matches were extremely close with both sides battling hard,” Pittsfield coach Daniel Sullivan said. “The all senior teams from Belchertown edged out Pittsfield to take both doubles sets and clinch the overall match.”

Max Beckwith and Adam Quinto picked up wins for Pittsfield at Nos. 1 and 3 singles, respectively.

Beckwith beat his opponent in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.

At third singles, Quinto came from behind to win, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.

“Quinto continues his strong play this season (5-0) with a comeback victory and dominant second and third sets,” Sullivan said. “He wore down his opponent with solid play from the baseline and good timing coming in to the net.”
