Pittsfield Boys' 400 Relay Places Fourth at Sectional

WESTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Pittsfield High boys 4-by-100 relay team finished fourth at the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 1 Championships on Saturday at Hampshire Regional High School.
 
Emmanuel Nda, David Kankham, Kevin Amenlemah and Emmanuel Ameniama finished in 43.85 seconds.
 
They finished less than a second behind the winning quartet from East Longmeadow, which set a meet record with a time of 42.90, shaving two-tenths off the 2-year-old mark.
 
The fourth-place showing helped the Pittsfield boys finish 18th out of a 26-team at the meet.
 
Pittsfield's girls finished 23rd.
 
Wachusett's boys and girls won both team titles.
 
Pittsfield's Aliyah Bolling placed sixth in the 200 meters, taking more than a second off her seed time with a 26.97 in the final. In the 100, Bolling reached the final and placed eighth in 13.00.
 
Bolling also ran the anchor leg on Pittsfield's seventh-place girls 4-by-100 relay quartet. Chaz Shaver, Olivia Nda, Molly Tierney and Bolling clocked a time of 51.61.
 
Emmanuel Nda pointed in the 100 with a sixth-place finish, crossing the line in 11.21.
