Pittsfield's Mansfield, Lenox's Caproni Victorious in Slalom
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Abby Kate Caproni again finished first and led the Lenox girls to victory in a Monday’s slalom race at Bousquet.
Caproni clocked a time of 55.23 seconds, a little more than two seconds ahead of runner-up Adelaide McFarland of Monument Mountain (57.44).
In the boys race, Drew Dunham finished in 51.54 to finish in third place and lead Wahconah to a team victory.
The fastest boy on Monday was Pittsfield’s Michael Mansfield, who finished in 48.37.
But Wahconah scored times from Dunham, Kyle Brogan, Dominic Scalise and Tommy Dunham to finish with an aggregate of 233.31 seconds -- five seconds ahead of second-place Monument Mountain.
The Spartans were led by Raphael Kummer-Landau in fifth place.
Taconic’s Andrew King was the second-fastest boy, clocking a 49.79 to finish 1.42 seconds behind Mansfield.
On the girls’ side, Caproni of Drury High and the Lenox cooperative team finished with an aggregate of 252.62 seconds -- 11 seconds ahead of Monument Mountain.
Caproni was joined in the top 10 by teammates Molly Knight and Ava Bachman in third and seventh, respectively. Amy Alderton rounded out the scoring for the Millionaires.
