Jourdain, Arthur Win at Mount Greylock

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Lenox senior Emma Jourdain outdueled Mount Greylock senior Margo Smith for a 10-second win in Wednesday’s cross country race at Mount Greylock.
 
Jourdain finished in 16 minutes, 15 seconds to lead five Millionaires in the top 10. Her teammate Alice Najimy was second in 17:20. Marion Huth, Ellen Huth and Maggie Sorrentino placed sixth through eighth, respectively.
 
Besides Smith (16:25), Mount Greylock placed senior Niku Darafshi and eighth-grader Alice Glab in the top 10.
 
Monument Mountain’s girls were led by Grace Phair (17:28) in fourth place. Lee’s Amber MacDowell (20:12) finished 34th to lead the Wildcats.
 
In the boys race, Mount Greylock senior Evan Arthur ran away with the win in a time of 14:08. He was followed by seven of his teammates in another impressive showing for the Mounties.
 
Sam Culver was second in 14:55, followed by Cameron Castonguay, Owen Brandriss, Josh Cheung, Jacob Fink, Jesse Seid and Jakin Miller.
 
Monument’s Jared Henry (15:47) and Ethan Mazursky rounded out the top 10, followed by two more Spartans: Michael Goretti and Nick Gray.
 
Lenox was led by eighth-grader Ted Yee (16:35) in 12th place. Lee sophomore Sebastian Dowd-Smith (17:06) was 25th.
