The McCann Tech softball team could get another crack at Mount Everett, but that just makes the Hornets like everyone else in the Division 3 Western Mass tournament -- gunning for the top-seeded Eagles.

The MIAA released the seedings for the upcoming baseball and softball tournaements on Tuesday, and once again, Mount Everett (19-0) helded down the top seed in D3.

The Eagles get Thursday off and will instead await the winner of Thursday's game in North Adams between No. 8 McCann (11-9) and No. 9 Pioneer Valley (12-8).

Last week, Mount Everett handed McCann a 14-2 loss in the Hornets' regular season finale.

Four Berkshire County teams populate the Division 3 bracket.

Fourth-seeded Hoosac Valley (12-6) will be home on Thursday against No. 13 Franklin Tech (13-7). On the other side of the bracket, No. 11 St. Joseph (12-8) is on the road in the first round to face No. 6 Renaissance (17-3).

In Division 1, No. 8 Pittsfield (13-7) will be home on Thursday in the first round against Chicopee Comp (10-10), while No. 10 Taconic (11-9) travels to face No. 7 East Longmeadow (10-10) on Friday.

The county's lone entrant in the Division 2 field is Wahconah (13-7), which is seeded sixth and will face No. 3 Frontier in the quarter-finals of a seven-team field.
