McCann Tech Baseball, Softball, Boys Lax All Home in State Voc Tourneys

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- All three of McCann Tech’s spring sports earned home games in the semi-finals of their State Vocational Small School Division Tournaments.
 
Baseball and boys lacrosse are seeded first in their four-team tournaments, according to the rankings that were released over the past couple of days by the Massachusetts Vocational Athletic Directors Association.
 
The McCann Tech boys lax team will open the tournament against South Shore on Sunday afternoon with the winner advancing to play either No. 2 Essex or No. 3 Tri-County. Twelve teams competed for spots in the four-team tourney this spring.
 
Fifteen schools around the commonwealth competed for a spot in the Small School baseball tourney, and for the first time in program history, the Hornets are seeded first.
 
McCann Tech's baseball team will host Canton's Blue Hills on Tuesady afternoon at Joe Wolfe Field. The winner will play either No. 2 Old Colony or No. 3 Westfield Tech.
 
And the McCann Tech softball team is seeded second in its bracket. It will take on Nashoba on Monday afternoon in the semis. If McCann Tech wins, it will see either No. 1 Bristol County or No. 5 Old Colony in the State Voc final.
 
All three teams also have qualified for their respective Western Mass tournaments.
