McCann Tech Baseball Falls in Extra Innings

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield Tech rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth to earn a 5-4 win over McCann Tech on Tuesday.
 
The Hornets (1-1) scored three times in the second to take a 3-1 lead, but Westfield Tech came back to tie the game in the fourth, and that is where the game stood after seven.
 
In the top of the eighth, Luke Thomas reached on a leadoff single. Pinch-runner Keaton West went to third on an errant pickoff throw and scored on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Livsey.
 
Thomas and Justin Dennette each went 2-for-4 at the plate.
 
Starting pitcher Ozzie Weber struck out nine and allowed two earned runs in six innings of work. Livsey struck out three in 1-2/3 and was tagged with the loss.
 
McCann Tech goes to Gateway on Thursday.
