Mount Everett Baseball Tops Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Brendan Dempsey hit a two-run single in a six-run second inning on Saturday as the Mount Everett baseball team defeated Monument Mountain, 7-5, to hand the Spartans their first loss against a Berkshire County foe.
 
Niko Casivant went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Kenny Zucco and Jimi Gulotta each had a hit for the Eagles (9-4).
 
Gulotta also earned the win on the mound, going six innings. He allowed four earned runs before letting Alek Zdziarski strike out one in a hitless seventh inning.
 
Dylan Tinker and Jackson Blanchard each went 2-for-3, and Tyler Wade tripled for Monument Mountain.
 
The Spartans (14-3) host Mount Greylock on Memorial Day.
