Rose's Walk-Off Single Lifts Taconic Baseball Over East Longmeadow

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Cedric Rose drove a liner to left to score Michael O’Brien with two outs in the bottom of the seventh Wednesday to give the Taconic baseball team a 9-8 win over East Longmeadow.
 
Taconic rallied with two runs in the seventh to erase an 8-7 deficit.
 
Anton Lazits started with a one-out single. He moved up when O’Brien was hit by a pitch.
 
After a fly ball for the second out, Christian Womble drove in Lazits and moved O’Brien into scoring position.
 
Rose went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, and Lazits was 2-for-2 and scored three times.
 
Lazits also went 5-⅔ innings on the mound, allowing six earned runs. Womble came on to get the final out in the sixth, and Mitchell DeCelles pitched a scoreless seventh, striking out one, to earn the win.
 
Taconic (12-4) hosts Pittsfield on Thursday.
