Hoosac's Kogut Shuts Out Mount Everett

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Devin Kogut pitched a complete-game four-hitter Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley baseball team to a 5-0 win over Mount Everett.
 
Kogut struck out three and walked just one as the Hurricanes (1-1) picked up their first win of the season.
 
John Krol drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the first to get the ball rolling. He went 2-for-3 on the day to lead Hoosac’s offense, which also got an RBI from Henry Sniezek.
 
For Mount Everett (1-3), Cavan Brady stole a pair of bases. Nick Vandebogart allowed four runs -- all unearned -- in four innings on the mound to take the loss.
 
Mount Everett travels to face Mount Greylock on Monday.
 
Hoosac Valley faces Monument Mountain on Saturday morning in the first round of the Wahconah Tournament.
