CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Landen Jamula Wednesday hit a three-run double in the top of the third to give the Mount Greylock baseball team a 4-2 lead.

And the Mounties just kept adding to that margin.

Mount Greylock batted around twice in the top of the seventh to score 12 runs en route to a 22-3 win over Hoosac Valley.

Jamula went 4-for-5 with three doubles and five RBIs, and Oscar Low was 3-for-4, stole four bases and scored five times.

Hoosac Valley scored twice in the top of the first after working four straight walks against Low to start the game.

Jack Gitterman came on to close the door and proceeded to go 4-⅔ innings to earn the win, striking out five and allowing just one unearned run.

The Mounties’ offense kicked into gear in the third against Hoosac Valley starter Caleb Harrington, taking the 4-2 lead.

Mount Greylock went on to score in each of the next four innings, building a 10-3 lead going to the seventh.

But it was not a laugher most of the way.

After the Mounties took the lead, Hoosac Valley got one back in the bottom of the third when Corben Craig doubled and scored on a two-base error to make it 4-3.

The Mounties used a Hoosac Valley error in a two-run fourth and another error for a run in the fifth to make it 7-3.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Hurricanes loaded the bases with two out thanks to three straight walks.

Mount Greylock turned to Chase Doyle, and he got the final out swinging to end the threat. Doyle later struck out the side in the sixth -- fanning all four batters he faced on the day.

In the top of the sixth, Dylen Harrison drove in two runs with a single, and Jamula doubled in a run as Mount Greylock stretched its lead to 10-3.

After Doyle’s dominant sixth, the Mounties took advantage of the back end of Hoosac Valley’s bullpen to run away with it.

Hoosac Valley goes to Taconic on Friday. Mount Greylock (3-2) goes to Drury on Friday.
