CHESHIRE, Mass. – Turners Falls scored four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-2 lead and went on to an 8-4 win over Hoosac Valley on Monday.

“A close game until really the fifth,” Hoosac Valley coach Jason Sniezek said. “We got two back in the 7th but took an 8-4 loss. I’m pleased with the way we put the bat on the ball today.

“And I give Caleb Harrington a lot of credit for his pitching performance with 10 strikeouts.”

Harrington also went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs for the Hurricanes, who got hits from Mike Szabo and T.J. Deblois.

Hoosac Valley (0-2) hosts Lee on Tuesday.
