Mounties Win On The Road With Sixth Inning Hit

PITTSFIELD, MA- The Mount Greylock baseball team earned a 6-5 win on the road Thursday afternoon against Pittsfield with an RBI single in the top of the sixth to break the 5-5 tie.

 
Senior Jake Benzinger hat three hits for the Mounties driving in the run in the sixth inning to seal the victory.
 
The Generals took an early lead playing three in the bottom of the second, but the Mounties came out in the top of the fourth and drove in four runs to take the lead.
 
Greylock scored one in the fifth and Pittsfield brought in two to tie it at five.
 
Adam Hall pitched six innings for Greylock striking out five. Dennis Cooney pitched four innings for Pittsfield striking out two, Chris Tracey pitched three and struck out one.
 
Mount Greylock (15-2) plays St.Joe's next Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Pittsfield (13-3) plays West Springfield Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
