Guest One-Hitter Lifts Mount Greylock at Wahconah

DALTON, Mass. -- Phil Guest struck out five and allowed just one hit Tuesday in pitching the Mount Greylock baseball team to a 3-1 win over Wahconah.
 
Guest needed just 80 pitches in the complete-game victory as the Mounties improved to 9-4.
 
Mount Greylock took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third.
 
Alex Backiel led off with a single and moved up on Cole Wojtkowski’s bunt single. Cal Messina then reached on a bunt to load the bases for Eli Ostheimer.
 
Ostheimer reached on a two-base error that brought home the game’s first two runs. Messina then scored on a groundout by Guest.
 
Dane Campbell singled to drive in Bob Archambault in the bottom of the third for Wahconah.
 
Pat Butler was tagged with two unearned runs in taking the loss on the mound.
 
Wahconah (6-7) goes to Pittsfield on Wednesday.
 
Mount Greylock hosts Monument Mountain on Wednesday.
