PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Dylan Burke hit a two-run double to center in a five-run fifth inning that sent the Taconic baseball team to a 7-2 win over Pittsfield on Thursday on Pellerin Field at Clapp Park.

Pittsfield had taken a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, but Taconic's rally gave it a 6-2 lead that Christian Womble never relinquished.

Womble struck out 10 and walked three in a complete-game victory on the hill.

He also helped his cause by going 3-for-4 at the plate and got support from Brendan Stannard, Leo Arace and jake Risley, who each had two hits.

Jon Halse went 2-for-4 with an RBI in an 11-hit Pittsfield attack. Carter Matthew and Hunter Potash each had a pair of hits for the Generals.

Ryan Lapierre and Danny Dimassimo split time on the mound for the Generals, striking out seven between them.

Pittsfield (9-1) looks to get back in the win column on Friday at St. Peter Marian.

Taconic (10-0), which qualified for the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament with the win, goes on the road to face Cheshire, Conn., on Saturday.
