WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass — The bats of the Mount Greylock baseball team stayed hot on Friday, helping the Mounties earn their third straight win with an 11-3 home victory over Saint Joseph's. For the second straight game, Steve Messina's club notched double-hits and double-digit runs. In the past three contests, Greylock has scored an impressive 37 runs.

The Mounties picked at Crusaders' starter Connor Lein for the first three innings of the game on Friday. They led 3-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth, when they exploded for seven runs to chase Lein out of the game. Senior outfielder Nick Zimmerman started things off with a solo home run to left field. He also had a two-run double later in the inning, part of a five-hit frame that gave the hosts a comfortable 10-1 lead.

Junior shortstop Eric Leitch also had a great day with the bat, going 4 for 4 with a double and two runs batted in. Junior outfielder Sean Houston reached base all four times he came to the plate and scored every time he got on base.

Greylock senior Avery Cunningham rebounded from a tough opening-day loss to Mount Anthony by scattering eight hits to pick up the complete-game win. Cunningham only had one strikeout on the day but didn't allow a single walk to improve his record to 1-1.

The Mounties have a little time off now before resuming play on Friday with a road game at Monument Mountain at 1 p.m.
