PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Two days after suffering a tough extra-inning loss to South Division rival Hoosac Valley, the Mount Greylock baseball team rebounded nicely with a 7-3 road win over Saint Joseph's.

Junior Andrew Leitch played a pivotal role in the Mounties' win, allowing three earned runs on seven hits to improve his record to 3-1 this year. Leitch struck out one and walked one in six innings of work before turning the ball over to sophomore Robbie Buffis, who pitched a clean seventh frame to earn the save.

Leitch also helped his own cause by hitting a two-run triple in the top of the fourth inning. Greylock (6-3) scored three times in the fourth before breaking out for four more runs in the fifth to open a commanding 7-1 lead. Leitch finished with two hits on the day, one less than sophomore catcher Nick DiSanti, who led the Mounties' offense by going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Senior Billy Pulasky also had a good day at the plate for the visitors, batting 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Jeremy Witt was charged with the loss for the Crusaders (3-8), allowing five earned runs on four hits and four walks in four innings of work.

Greylock next plays at Lenox at 4 p.m. on Friday.
