SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Sean Davis pitched a complete game to lead the McCann Tech baseball team to a 17-4 win over Mount Everett in an independent game on Thursday afternoon.

 

Davis allowed three hits and two walks against eight strikeouts.

 

Austin Miller led a 16-hit Hornet attack by going 3-for-5 with a double. Davis and Ethan Heller each tripled, and Joe Gwozdz went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

 

The Hornets (2-0) scored in double digits for the second straight game to open the year.

 

McCann plays its third straight road game to open the season on Friday when it goes to Smith Vocational in Northampton.

 

Mount Everett hosts Hoosac Valley on Monday.
