FRANKLIN, Mass. -- Jacob Moreau scored the game-winning goal with two minutes left Friday as Tri-County RVT earned a 7-6, come-from-behind victory over McCann Tech in the semi-finals of the State Vocational small school division tournament.

“TC has a real strong team, quick, athletic, skilled, move the ball well,” McCann Tech coach Paul Lange said. “But we held our own. Darius Tovani and Evan Knapp were awesome at the midfield and on faceoffs. Zavier Martin-Levesque was a warrior on midfield and took a beating. Jason Knapp and Evan Drawec played well at midfield too. Darian [Tovani], Colby [Ghidotti], and Jason [Delisle] were strong on attack.

"Our defensive unit of Lane Hughes, Justin Horn, and Tyler Pettit played their best game of the season, keeping a high powered offense to only seven goals.”

Keegan Dellaghelfa was rock solid in goal, making 13 saves.

The Hornets led, 6-4, going into the fourth quarter, but Tri-County’s defense kept McCann Tech off the board over the final 12 minutes.

Darian Tovani led a balanced McCann Tech attack with two goals and an assist. Delisle, Ghidotti, Darius Tovani and Knapp each scored a goal.

“It was a heartbreaker for sure,” Lange said. “But to come out east and really compete with a team seeded higher than us goes to show how much heart this boys have and how hard they have worked to improve this year.”

McCann Tech (11-8) will take on St. Bernard’s on Monday at 6 p.m. in Leominster in the first round of the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
