Wellspeak Scores Five as Mount Greylock Hands Hoosac First Loss

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Michael Wellspeak scored five goals and assisted on four more Wednesday as the Mount Greylock boys lacrosse team earned a 19-6 win over Hoosac Valley to hand the Hurricanes their first loss of the spring.
 
Nick Belouin had a hat trick, and Mac Waynick scored twice and picked up four assists. Hoby MacWhinnie assisted on three goals to go with his two scores.
 
David Falk and Cole Seaman combined on four saves to earn the win between the pipes.
 
Nate Haley scored four goals, and Nick Waterman and Casey Meczywor each scored for Hoosac Valley, which got 11 saves from the tandem of Brady Larkin and Matt Hall.
 
Hoosac Valley (11-1) looks to get back on the plus side of the ledger Thursday at Pittsfield.
 
Mount Greylock (10-4) has won five in a row going into Thursday’s home game against Taconic.
