DALTON, Mass. -- Vinny Orlandi stopped 16 saves to lead the Wahconah boys lacrosse team to a 16-5 win over Taconic on Saturday.

“Well balanced offense and great goalie play,” were the keys to victory, Wahconah coach Zachary Sondrini said. “Taconic has three very skilled players and I was happy the way our guys took away two of their threats. Brad Cobb is a good player who made us pay when we didn't slide with body and feet and instead chased stick.”

Cobb scored five goals to lead Taconic (1-4).

Four different players had a hat trick for Wahconah (4-2): Connor Washburn, Jeremy Girard, Wyatt Schliecher and Kyle Gazzillo.

Wahconah led 9-3 at half-time but took control of the game with a 5-0 third quarter.

“I was happy the way we came out for the second half,” Sondrini said. “We've had issues with let downs after halftime. I was happy the way our rides looked.”

Taconic hosts McCann Tech on Monday.

Wahconah hosts Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
