DALTON, Mass. -- Dart Jaggi and Jeremy Girard each scored four goals, and Wahconah’s defense held Lee to just a pair of scores in an 11-2 win on Thursday.

“We held a high scoring Lee team to only two goals,” Wahconah coach Zach Sondrini said. “I'm very happy with the way our team is coming together. Our long poles played great today. Our attack did a great job of riding making it hard on their poles to clear the ball. It's been a big focus of ours.”

Matt Mathers and Conner Noyes each had a goal and an assist, and Dom Orlandi and Kyle Brogan combined to make four saves in the win.

Lee’s Brock Bauman scored both his team’s goals, and Theo Widinger and Tighler Andrews split time in the Wildcats’ goal, stopping 13 shots.

Wachonah (7-4) has won three out of four games going into Saturday’s game against Springfield Central. The one loss in that stretch? A one-goal decision to Mount Greylock.

“We've been playing our best lacrosse lately,” Sondrini said. After the East Longmeadow game we made some switches that have made us much more competitive in key positions. Our team energy has improved and I hope it continues.

“It's a difficult time in the season when guys can lose heart. We've seen it before and we've really been getting back to fundamentals and keeping practices fun, competitive and high tempo. We've got a tough stretch of games ahead of us and we need to keep our guys healthy and focused. There won’t be much practice time to prepare.”

Lee (9-5) goes to Mount Greylock on Saturday.
