McCormack Scores Late Game-Winner as Mounties Edge Northampton

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Michael Wellspeak set up Sean McCormack with 2 minutes, 41 seconds left in regulation to give Mount Greylock a 6-5, comeback win over Northampton on Saturday.

 

Owen Politis scored midway through the fourth quarter to tie the game, 5-5 and set the stage for McCormack’s late goal, which kept the Mounties unbeaten at 9-0.

 

Reilly Parker scored twice and had an assist. Patrick Storie had a goal and an assist, and Wellspeak added a goal to go with his assist on the game-winner.

 

Cal Filson made seven saves to backstop the Mounties to victory.

 

Mount Greylock Monday travels to Cheshire for a rematch against Hoosac Valley.
