Monument Boys Lacrosse Earns Western Mass Berth

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Matt DiSilva scored three goals and set up another to lead the Monument Mountain boys lacrosse team to a 9-7 win over Hoosac Valley on Thursday as the Spartans clinched a berth in the Western Mass tournament.
 
Homer Winston and Joe LaBrasca each scored twice, and Jake Parkinson had a goal and two assists for Monument Mountain (8-6), which got eight saves from Jonah Swotes.
 
Brendan Ellsworth scored four goals, and Nick Waterman had the other three for Hoosac Valley, playing its fifth game in seven days.
 
Cam Alibozek had 12 saves for the Hurricanes (8-7), which hosts St. Mary’s on Monday.
 
Monument Mountain is at Mount Greylock on Monday.
