MANCHESTER, Vt. -- Emma Polumbo scored five goals, and Caroline Flynn added four to lead the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team to a 14-12 win over Burr & Burton Seminary on Thursday.

Polumbo and Flynn each added two assists in the win, which saw Carolyn Jones and Lauren Howard each score twice. Emma Stevens had the other Mounties goal.

“Emma Polumbo had a huge game in the midfield for the Mounties and Autumn [Delorey] had nine saves keeping us in the game,” Mount Greylock coach Lindsey von Holtz said.

“This was the best team lacrosse we have played this season. I was really proud of the girls today. We were down a few times and even when we were leading we knew that Burr and Burton had the ability to come back. We had to work hard all game. We worked together in all aspects of the game especially defense.”

Mount Greylock (4-2) takes a two-game winning streak into Saturday’s home game against Westfield.
