PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Rachel Tynan scored five goals Thursday to lead the Pittsfield girls lacrosse team to an 18-5 win over St. Mary’s of Westfield as the Generals earned their first win of the season in their final home game.

“It was the seniors’ perseverance that kept our team together this season,” PHS coach Jenna Giardina said. “They are a great group of just genuine people that worked very hard day in and day out. Good examples for our underclassman.”

Emily Kestyn scored twice and set up three goals for Pittsfield, which also got two goals apiece from Paige Hinman, Sierra Murray and Reilly Nichols.

Anna Quinto made five saves to earn the win between the pipes.

Pittsfield (1-14) has one game left on its schedule, a trip to St. Mary’s originally scheduled for April 12 that was rained out.
