NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Hoosac Valley softball team defeated Drury Saturday afternoon, 12-0, on Francis Millard Field.

Hoosac pitcher Kali Puppolo threw five strikeouts for the afternoon and allowed only two base runners for the Blue Devils through the game which came in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings. The Hurricanes had 1-2-3 innings in the other four.

"This is the best I've seen her all year," Hoosac coach Mike Ameen said. "She was throwing strikes, she was hitting her spots. One hit, one walk, and two base runners the whole game, you can't ask for better than that."

Hoosac (2-2) took advantage on the bases of Drury's errors; eleven total for the afternoon.

Their first three runs came in the top of the third inning from Puppolo, Alyssa Pause, and Liz Leveque. They brought their lead to six in the fourth and scored their final six runs in the sixth.

"We were aggressive on the bases, we made them make the play, and put the ball in play at the plate," Ameen said. "Things worked out well for us."

Hoosac travels to Mount Everett Monday and Drury (2-3) hosts Wahconah on Tuesday.
