Angell Ks 15 as Eagles Advance to Softball Semis

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Faith Angell struck out 15 Monday to lead the second-seeded Mount Everett softball team to a 12-0, six-inning win over Gateway in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
 
The Eagles (14-6) move on to Wednesday’s sectional semi-final at Sortino Field at UMass Amherst against No. 3 McCann Tech (17-4) a 6-4 winner over Hopkins Academy on Monday.
 
Against Gateway, Gwendolyn Carpenter went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Jaclyn Derwitsch and Madison Ullrich each went 2-for-4. Ullrich doubled and drove in a run.
