Hoosac Valley Softball Edges Southwick in Quarter-Finals

ADAMS, Mass. -- Madi Puppolo homered at the plate and threw a complete game in the circle to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 6-5 win over Southwick in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 2 tournament.
 
Rylynn Witek and Kelsey Wohrle each had three hits and scored two runs for the second-seeded Hurricanes (16-3).
 
Logan Stansfield added two hits in a 13-hit Hoosac attack.
 
Puppolo scattered 11 hits and struck out four to earn the win.
 
The Hurricanes head to the University of Massachusetts on Thursday to face third-seeded Wahconah (15-6), a 10-1 winner over Frontier on Monday.
