Taconic Tops Hoosac Valley, Moves to .500

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Rylee Paronto went 2-for-4 with a triple and struck out seven in the circle to lead the Taconic softball team to a 5-2 win over Hoosac Valley on Saturday.
 
Anna Bongini was 2-for-3 and scored three times, and Bella McDonald was 2-for-4 and scored a run for Taconic.
 
Paronto allowed just one walk and five hits in the complete-game win.
 
Rylynn Witek had two of those hits, both doubles, in a 2-for-3 day. Rylie Bishop went 2-for-2 and scored a run for the Hurricanes.
 
Witek struck out five in six innings of work before Madi Puppolo came on to strike out two in the seventh.
 
Hoosac Valley goes to Lenox on Monday.
 
Taconic (4-4) takes a three-game winning streak into Tuesday's home game against Wahconah.
