Codding Goes 3-for-3 to Help Mount Greylock Softball Reach Final

MONTAGUE, Mass. -- Jordyn Codding went 3-for-3 with a run batted in Wednesday to lead the Mount Greylock softball team to a 4-1 win over Franklin Tech in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
 
The sixth-seeded Mounties (12-4) built a 4-0 lead going to the bottom of the sixth.
 
Emma Newberry drove in a pair of runs in a 2-for-4 afternoon, and A.J. Pelkey was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
 
Kami Sweet went the distance in the circle, striking out five, including the game’s final out with a runner on base.
 
Mount Greylock moves on to Friday’s sectional title game, where it will face six-time defending Western Mass champion Turners Falls, a 15-0 winner over Mohawk Trail on Wednesday.
