AMHERST, Mass. -- Natasha Shade went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Pittsfield softball team to a 6-0 win over West Springfield on Tuesday in the Western Massachusetts Division 1 semi-finals at Sortino Field.

Sarah McMahon went 2-for-4, and Giuliana Pierce blanked an opponent for the ninth time this season, scattering four hits in the process.

Pittsfield got all the runs it needed in the fourth inning, when McMahon led off with a single and came home on a two-out Tess Lyon single.

The top-seeded Generals (21-0) added a pair of runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to put the game away.

Pittsfield moves on to Saturday morning's sectional final, when it will face No. 3 Northampton (19-3), a 2-1 winner over Minnechaug on Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, Pittsfield earned a 13-0 win over the Blue Devils in Northampton.
