Greene Powers Lenox Softball in Double-Header Split

LENOX, Mass. -- The Lenox softball team Thursday split a pair of games against Pioneer Valley foes Putnam and Commerce.
 
In the opener, Commerce dealt Lenox a 9-7 loss. Aimee Greene had a big game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and five runs batted in. Myah House came off the bench to triple and score a run.
 
In Game 2, Lenox was able to finally pull away with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning after Putnam came back to erase 4-0 and 7-4 deficits.
 
In the bottom of the sixth, Kasey Valley drove in Claire Lynch with a groundout on the right side, and Hannah Sibley brought home Aimee Greene with a single to center field to put the Millionaires on top.
 
Sibley pitched both ends of the twin bill. In the win over Putnam, she struck out seven and walked five while scattering nine hits.
 
Greene went 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored, and Camryn O’Dell drove in three runs. Molly O’Brien was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.
 
Lenox (2-2) hosts Lee on Tuesday.
