Coaches Name Drury's Bird the County's MVP

Berkshire County’s boys basketball coaches named Drury High School senior Hayden Bird the county’s most valuable player.
 
Bird averaged 22 points and nearly nine rebounds per game for a Blue Devils team that went 18-4 and reached the Western Massachusetts Division 3 semi-finals.
 
 He was joined by three of his Drury teammates earning recognition on Wednesday when the coaches announced their all-league picks.
 
The all-Berkshire team includes Drury’s Reece Racette, who is joined by Hoosac Valley’s Keagan McGrathy, Mount Greylock’s Sean McCormack and Patrick Storie, Taconic’s Izaiya Mestre and Deonte Sandifer and Wahconah’s Brandon Roughley.
 
The all-Northern Division team features three players from Western Mass finalist Taconic: Brett Murphy, Jack Cooney and Devon Walker.
 
They are joined by Drury’s Connor Meehan and Scott McGuire, Hoosac Valley’s Colin Rousseau and Izaha Stubbs, Pittsfield’s Tyrell Boire and Wahconah’s Luke Steinman.
 
Monument Mountain placed three players on the all-Southern Division squad: Joe Aberdale, Graham Herrick and David Reigel. That team also features Lee’s Ben Harding, Lenox’s Michael Downer and St. Joseph’s Kekoa McCardle.
