Defensive Stand Lifts Hoosac Valley Boys at Renaissance

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Nicholas Waterman scored 13 points to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 44-34 win over Renaissance on Monday night.
 
The Hurricanes (4-1) used a big defensive performance in the third quarter to gain some distance after going into the locker room with a 19-18 lead at half-time.
 
Hoosac Valley outscored its hosts, 12-4, in the third to build a nine-point lead.
 
Izaha Stubbs finished with nine points, and John Krol added eight in the win.
 
Hoosac Valley takes a three-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game at Bennington, Vt.’s, Mount Anthony.
