SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Eight Berkshire County high school seniors are scheduled to participate in the Western Massachusetts Senior High School All-Star Games on Friday evening at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Four boys and four girls will participate in three games on the hall's Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams.

In Friday's 5:30 p.m. opener, Drury's Hayden Bird and Wahconah's Luke Steinman will join forces on a Division 3 and 4 boys team against a team that includes Hopkins Academy's Sam'i Roe, named last week the boys Western Massachusetts Player of the Year.

The triple-header features one girls game, and all four Berkshire participants will be on the same side as Hoosac Valley's Fallon Field, Lee's Karli Retzel, Mount Greylock's Jenna Benzinger and Pittsfield's Peyton Steinman all suit up on a team that includes girls Western Mass Player of the Year Selection Sophie Gatzounas of South Hadley.

The evening is capped by a Division 1 and 2 boys all-star game that sees Taconic's Deonte Sandifer and Izaiaya Mestre paired together one last time as high school basketball players.

Tickets to the all-star games are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
