NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Katlyn Toomey put back an offensive rebound, drew a foul and converted the three-point with 8.5 seconds left to give the Drury High girls basketball team a 41-39 win over Monument Mountain on Wednesday night.

"Katy got the rebound, went up strong, laid it off the glass," Drury coach Brian Flagg said. "It was a huge, huge play."

It left Monument with enough time to get off a last shot, but Drury forced the Spartans into a try from well beyond the 3-point arc that came up short.

Rebounding was a key all night for Drury, which got 15 boards from Olivia Carlson. Jenna Moulton scored 10 points, including eight in the second half on drives to the basket.

Monument (5-10) was led by Hailey Higgins with 20 points.

"Our plan was to shut down [Anika] Helmke, and [Higgins] took over," Flagg said.

At least, Higgins took over as much as anyone can against a Drury defense that has been the difference during the team's seven-game winning streak.

"The defense has been unreal," Flagg said. "This is seven [wins] in a row that we haven't scored more than 42 points,"

Drury (11-4) hosts Taconic on Monday.

Monument travels to Quaboag on Saturday.
