WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mount Greylock senior Jenna Benzinger scored her 1,000th career point on Tuesday en route to leading the Mounties to a 59-32 win over Narragansett in the first round of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.

Benzinger finished with a game-high 24 points, and Lauren Howard added 19 for the Mounties, who got nine from Maddie Albert.

Benzinger, who will play ball next winter at Division I Brown University, scored eight points in a 20-6 second quarter that allowed the Mounties to erase a one-point deficit and take a 31-18 lead into half-time.

She got her 1,000th career point on a bucket in the post in the third quarter.

Mount Greylock (15-6) will take on undefeated and second-seeded South Hadley (20-0) in the sectional quarter-finals on Friday.
