PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team continued to roll on Tuesday night, earning its fourth win in a row with a 55-29 win at St. Joe's.

The Hurricanes (5-1) have been hot as of late, winning four straight games by an average of 23.5 points per game. The Crusaders (4-2) put up a good fight in the first half and trailed only 22-18 at the break. Ron Wojcik's club put the clamps down on the defensive end in the second half, however, holding St. Joe's to just 11 points over the final 16 minutes of play.

"Our defensive intensity and pressure picked up in the second half, forcing turnovers, and we were able to get out and run," Wojcik said. "The third quarter was big, outscoring them 22-8, and we continued that effort in the fourth quarter with a 13-3 scoring advantage."

Freshman Emily Rosse finished just two rebounds shy of her third double-double of the year, posting a game-high 17 points and eight boards instead. Sophomore Megan Rodowicz chipped in with 10 points, five boards and three assists for Hoosac, which got nine different players into the scoring column on Tuesday night. Keegan McCauley was the high scorer for the Crusaders with 10 points.

The 'Canes next host Mount Greylock in a key South Division matchup at 7 p.m. on Friday.
