WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock girls' basketball team stayed with Pittsfield in the first half, but a 20-3 run in the third quarter was more than enough to lift the Generals to a 51-26 win on the road on Tuesday.

Senior Courtney McLaughlin hit a pair of threes on her way to a game-high 19 points for Pittsfield, which opened the game strong by taking a 10-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Mounties (4-9) played a solid second quarter, however, and managed to keep the game within reach, down 23-15 at halftime.

The Generals (9-4) blew the game open in the third quarter, though, holding the Greylock offense to just three points and opening up a 25-point cushion heading into the fourth. Senior Rachael Hunt had a solid overall game with six points, eight rebounds and four assists for Pittsfield, while junior Tiffany Robinson helped out with four points and eight boards.

Nine different players scored for the Generals, who next play at East Longmeadow at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Sophomore Lucy Barrett scored a team-high eight points for the Mounties, who were held to a season low in points on Tuesday night. Senior forward Margot Besnard added five points and a team-high eight rebounds, while junior Mackenzie Flynn chipped in with a game-high nine assists.

Greylock returns to action on Wednesday with a game at Monument Mountain at 7 p.m.
