NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A big second half and some strong inside play from forwards Emily Moulton and Shannon Garvey helped the Drury girls' basketball team to a 61-32 win over Mount Greylock in the consolation game of the Gene Wein Holiday Tournament on Friday night.

Fresh off a heartbreaking buzzer-beating defeat to Lee in Thursday's opening round, the Blue Devils (2-1) got off to a slow start in the first half, allowing the Mounties (0-3) to hang around while earning a slight 23-17 edge at the break. Drury stepped up its game on both ends of the court in the second half, however, outscoring the visitors 38-15 to end the game.

Moulton had her best game as a Blue Devil so far, posting a game-high 15 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four steals. Garvey also had a good game down low, recording 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.

"After a disappointing first half, we made it clear at halftime that our intensity and mental toughness were unacceptable," Drury head coach John Franzoni said. "We bounced back with a much better effort in the second half at both ends of the court."

Sophomore Destiny Crews also had a big impact in her varsity minutes for the Blue Devils this season. She came off the bench to give her team a spark in the second half, scoring nine points, dishing out two assists and making three steals.

Sophomore guard Lucy Barrett led the way for Greylock, collecting 10 points on the night. Classmate Miranda Voller also chipped in with six points and three boards.

"I thought we bounced back well after struggling in Thursday's game against Lenox," Mounties head coach Paul Barrett said. "We played a spirited first half, but Drury stepped up its pressure and proved too tough on the boards for us in the second half." 

The Devils next play at rival Hoosac Valley at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Mounties first play at McCann Tech at the same time on Monday night.
