The No. 8 Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team pushed top-seeded Mahar as far as it could on Saturday night before eventually falling 57-55 in double overtime in the quarterfinals of the Division 2 Western Mass. tournament.

Junior point guard Tori Rumbolt connected on two different scoring plays with freshman forward Emily Rosse late in the game, helping the Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team pull out a 67-60 win over South Hadley in the first round of the Division 2 Western Mass. tournament on Monday night.

After building a 25-17 lead at halftime, the Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team stood toe to toe with Lenox in the second half before eventually losing 42-41 at Adams Memorial School on Tuesday night.

The Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team had a chance to avenge its only league loss of the season on Saturday, but the Lenox defense set the tone in a 48-31 win for the Millionaires in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase on Saturday night.
