BOSTON, Mass. -- Lenox's Emma Jourdain led the Millionaires to a second-place finish in Division 2 at the all-state cross country meet on Saturday at Franklin Park.

Jourdain, a sophomore, finished 13th overall, covering the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 27 seconds, just more than a minute behind state champion Erin Dietz, a senior at Bedford.

Lenox, a runaway champion at the Western Mass D2 meet a week ago, finished with 146 points on Saturday, 52 points behind champion Hamilton-Wehnam.

In the D2 boys race, Mount Greylock finished fourth in a 19-team field with junior Tommy Kirby leading the way. Kirby finished 17th overall with a time of 16:37, less than a minute behind state champion Nick Carleo of Newburyport.

The Mounties amassed 163 points, fewer than 40 behind winner Hopedale, which captured the title after tying Newburyport with 125 points.

The day's top Berkshire County finisher was Hoosac Valley senior Travis Ciempa. He was ninth in 16:13 -- eight seconds ahead of Lenox's Tucker McNinch, the Western Mass champion a week ago.

McNinch led Lenox's boys to a 12th-place team finish.

Monument Mountain's Ace McAlister, running as an individual qualifier like Ciempa, finished 15th.

Also scoring for Mount Greylock were seniors Carter Stripp, Sam Kobrin, Will Nolan and Jake Kobrin.
