LENOX, Mass. -- The closest cross country race of the day on Wednesday was won by the Lenox Millionaires, who won everything else in sight by a large margin.
Sam Darby finished sixth by 21 seconds to clinch the points Lenox needed in a 27-29 dual meet win over Mount Greylock.
The Lenox boys and girls teams both cleaned up on Senior Day at Lenox Memorial.
Emma Jourdain won the girls race by 44 seconds and led five Millionaires in the top six.
Tucker McNinch won the boys race by 13 seconds but was chaesd across the finish line by Mounties Tommy Kirby and Carter Stripp, setting the stage for a tight dual match.
Kirby and Stripp were complemented by the trio of Sam Kobrin, Will Nolan and Jake Kobrin in spots seven through nine.
But Lenox got enough points from Ben Herrick (fourth), Pillippe Morletti (fifth), Darby and Connor McNinch (11th) to get the win.
"Mount Greylock -- since the first meet -- we've been working toward this day," Lenox coach Jeanne Teasdale said. "We knew that our boys today had to work hard. But regardless of whether they won or lost, they all ran good races.
"The outcome came out in our favor, which is very nice. I think this will give us that confidence booster this weekend."
On Saturday, Lenox heads south to the Brown Invitational, capping a busy week that will be rewarded with a couple of light ones to get ready for the Nov. 8 Western Mass Championships in Northfield.
Both Lenox and Mount Greylock figure to be in the mix when the region's best teams compete for a shot at the state championships.
Lenox's girls have been a juggernaut this season, and Wednesday was no different. Jourdain was joined in the scoring column by Maggie Sorrentino, Alice Najimy, Liz Jarck and Ella King.
Only Mount Greylock's Margo Smith was able to break up a would-be sweep by the hosts. She finished fifth in 21 minutes, 36 seconds -- four seconds behind Jarck and seven ahead of King.
But Lenox still had enough for an impressive 16-43 win over the perennial powers from Mount Greylock.
Lenox also was matched up against Lee on Wednesday. While the Wildcats' Ava Martin finished 11th overall -- the first non-Mountie and non-Millionaire across the finish line -- Lenox still posted a 15-50 dual win over Lee.
Lee did get a 23-35 win over Mount Everett, which also fell to Wahconah's girls, 19-43. Wahconah won its other dual meet, 19-43, against Drury.
Drury's McKensie Digennaro just missed out on a top-20 finish. Her time of 24:47 was good enough for 21st place and two points in the dual meet against Wahconah.
In boys dual meet action, Mount Greylock and Lenox posted easy wins over Wahconah and Lee, respectively. Lee and Mount Everett got wins over Drury, which fielded just two runners, and Wahconah edged Mount Everett in the day's other close race.
Quincy Heon finished 23rd overall to lead Wahconah.
