Berkshire Health Systems is trying to heal some sick computers after they were infected with malware during the past week.
"No patient health or payment information was compromised during this event and that information is protected by a sophisticated and secure system," said BHS spokesman Michael Leary in response to an inquiry by iBerkshires.
Berkshire Health Systems is trying to step into the health-care gap caused by the abrupt closure of a local primary care practice.
According to a statement from BHS, it "will adjust and augment the Neighborhood for Health program to manage the coordination and continuation of care for Dr. Tang’s patients."
The service is available for patients who are unable to see their physician, and provides fast, high quality evaluation and treatment in a convenient setting that is open every day, including weekends, and has evening hours.
