Williamstown Medical Associates has changed its name to Williamstown Medical of BMC (Berkshire Medical Center) and relocated its North Adams offices.
The practice moved on Feb. 1 to the second floor of the main building of the North Adams Campus of BMC at 71 Hospital Ave. The suite has been fully renovated and refurbished and can be accessed through the main lobby. The practice had previously been in the Ambulatory Care Center.
Berkshire Health Systems has appointed five primary-care physicians, all accepting new patients throughout the Berkshires, from south to north.
The addition of these five physicians is a significant expansion of primary-care services in the Berkshires and Southern Vermont, which has been experiencing the national shortage of primary-care physicians.

On Monday night Sgt. Nicholas DeSantis heard gunshots and started heading in that direction. He noticed a suspicious car speeding away and chased it down. It led to the arrest of four individuals on gun-related charges.
